Two Options. Please read fully and carefully! There is very little difference and might not matter at all. The difference may be related the fuel type and could be important. Black might be for gasoline only, red might be for kerosene or both.
Best used as replacement Fuel Tube O-Ring for MSR liquid fuel pumps from a range of years. The Fuel Tube O-Ring is the O-ring that makes the seal between the pump and the fuel line. Your pump needs one.
Option One: The Standard Pump Fuel Tube O-Ring is Black, part number . It is best used to replace the Black Fuel Valve O-Ring common on early MSR Pumps (Not Duraseal) made after 1985. These black O-Rings are not a match to the modern Duraseal Pumps.
Option Two: The Standard Fuel Tube O-Ring Red*, part number , is best used to replace the red O-Ring (not bright red!) common on the pumps that came with later model MSR XGK, XGK EX and WhisperLite Stoves. It fits on both Duraseal and older pumps. *The Red O-Ring will look kind of Dark Brown and will not be bright red.
