If this is the same material supplied by Necky, I have had to replace all three hatch covers. They should either be less expensive or of a quality that will withstand the weather exposure. Of course, this review and rating is for the original OEM covers.

Necky Kayaks purchase their rubber hatch covers from Valley Canoe Products of Nottingham England. Valley molds the Necky logo in the center, as they often do for other brands too. Necky and Valley hatch covers are exactly the same and of course are imported. 8 inch round is much the same. This is the most expensive VCP style hatch option.
Yes! Valley hatch covers are notorious for rotting like old rubber bands. It may take only a few years for this to happen, or as much as decade. Keep a watchful eye on your covers and contact us at TopKayaker for alterative rot proof options.
